About ripping Alice to Zouroku

the BD source is pretty good with high resolution, edge lines are smooth. The part of CG is also 900p, some scenes have even better image resolution(seems about 960p). Though it has some Collapse Painting, the painting quality is really not bad. I used AA and slight deband general processing method. I also protect the FHD staff information with a text mask. The BD source has a simple structure. It contains only one Interview, I just did IVTC to this…

About Ripping As the moon, so beautiful.

“As the moon, so beautiful” is a Anime about love story in school. The BGM sounds very good. About Ripping this Anime: this Blue-ray Disk has mediocre image quality, which only have 720p native resolution(see the anibin website). So the edge of the characters looks blur. I think it is not a good visual experience. The characters  in background(supporting role or we can say Passersby) are made of CG technology. That is why the edge on these people looks extremely sharp, which have very strong…

March Comes in like a Lion’ RAW have distinct line with some aliased attached; The plane has rich details. The staff info in OP/ED are Full HD, so I tried to process these parts respectively. I used common AA algorithm and slight debanding as general processing method. It is also import to design a luma…

About ripping Shumatsu Nani Shitemasuka

EFS, Video processing
question_answer0
Shumatsu Nani Shitemasuka is a good anime in this season, its BlueRay is also not bad. The whole RAW looks clean, even in some dark sense, it has clearly and moderately contrast of its edge. The lines are not so sharp,  even some deliberate blurring effects. I use AA, adaptive sharpen,  nr-debanding as general processing method. Though edges of characters have burring effect, they still not smooth due to resizing of source, especially in OPED, so I add the processing strength. The RAW…

The whole July I was busy with my study, so I didn’t do anything about ripping, but I have already finished these scripts before exam. In this weekend I summarize the result of the testing about x265 v2.4, and applied to them. It achieved balance between quality and file size, which suitable for VCB-S standard. Amaama to Inazuma have mediocre RAW quality, it does not have many artifacts, excluding some subpixel aliasing attached to edges. Accordingly, we applied Anti-Aliasing and Adaptive Denoising to it. In…

Test of x265 Stable v2.4

Amefs, EFS, IT, x265
question_answer0
In the past two weeks, I did some test around x265 v2.4, I also wrote some post about some of results. (about “–limit-tu” and “–limit-sao”) Yesterday I fond the rip, encoding with x265 v2.4, reached 130% the size of rip with v2.3. I was considered of difference parameter, so I compared the mediainfo of the two rip, then I fond the new parameter “–no-ssim-rd”. But finally I find it has nothing to do with the increment of file size. I read…
